We often get asked what book(s) would be best to start with and there are many answers to that question. All of the above books are excellent, but some are “more excellent” in certain situations, such as the following:

  • For Women – “Women with Attention Deficit Disorder” is an essential read. It explains why many women with ADHD have similar characteristics – perfectionism, very hard-working, people-pleasing, avoid conflict.
  • For Men – “Taking Charge of Adult ADHD” is an in-depth overview written by the ADHD “guru” Russell Barkley. He does a great job of explaining what’s going on in the ADHD brain in an ADHD-friendly way.
  • For Couples – “The Couple’s Guide to Thriving with ADHD” is very practical with good information for couples especially if one person has ADHD and the other doesn’t.
